About DJ TyWy
I was born on February 5, 1997, in Tampa, Florida. I have Asperger’s which I see more as a positive thing than a negative thing. Yes, there may be a few things I struggle with, but by the Grace of God, I have been able to overcome those struggles. For example, it took me seven tries and two years for me to pass my Learners Permit Test, not because I didn’t study but because it was hard for me to understand what the questions were about because I’m more of a book smart guy. I didn’t pass the test until I graduated High School, but when I passed that test, it felt like the whole world was lifted off my shoulders. I now drive a 2016 Jeep Renegade and have my Driver’s License.
I usually get my knowledge for specific topics by reading books or the internet, listening to the radio, or watching TV. I’m very easy to get along with and someone that wants to be friends with everybody.
I was voted prom king by my classmates. I graduated from Shirley High School in Shirley, Arkansas in 2015. The school was so small that there were only 32 students in my graduating class. My family and I believe graduating from a small school benefited me because the teachers and the principal were very hands-on and more one on one time with my classmates and me.
I’m a huge NASCAR fanatic and know so many things about NASCAR. My three all-time favorite drivers are Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and Chase Elliott.
Why did I start in the DJING business?
As a kid, I have always loved music. I listen to many different types of music, Country, Pop, Classic Rock, R&B, Hip Hop, etc. I started out playing the drums in church. I didn’t begin singing publicly until I was 13 years old. I played percussion in the High School band and sang in the High School Choir. I also sang in many of the school talent shows and sang the national anthem at many of the school basketball games. In 2014, I won the Van Buren County Fair Youth Talent Competition in the Vocal Solo Category and got to sing at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock. I always enjoyed going to weddings, school dances, and proms. One day I began to think of a way to play all types of music for a living and DJING was the first thing that came to my mind.
When did I start in the business?
I began exploring the idea of being a DJ in November 2016. I came up with many different DJ names, but the one name that rang out was DJ TyWy. TyWy stands for my name, Tyler White. While on vacation, I got my first mixer, a set of speakers, and a few lights. When I came back from that vacation, I began advertising on all the Facebook yard sale groups across the state of Arkansas, and a vast majority of my business comes from Facebook advertising. I DJ’d my first gig on September 23, 2017, in Clinton, Arkansas when I DJ’d my cousin Amber’s wedding and I’ve fallen in love with the job ever since.
What to Expect
I have a Serato DDJ SR2 mixer that can add scratches and beats to the song. I also have a Yamaha Mixer that plugs into my Serato Mixer, a wireless microphone with a Microphone cable, a MAC PC, 2 ALTO 15-inch Power Speakers with 1150 watts with each speaker, 2 ALTO 18-inch Subwoofers with 2000 watts with each speaker, and six different American DJ and Chauvet Lighting Systems.
It is accustoming for me to arrive at the venue at least two hours before the event to set up and play music before the event starts.
My goals are to treat all people with respect, give the customer the best price possible, work with the customer to accommodate all needs, and make sure everyone is having a great time.
I am willing to emcee as well as take requests from people at the event. If you want clean versions of songs, I can blur out any profanity in songs on my Serato Mixer. I have a wide assortment of music from many different genres and decades and will build a custom playlist that fits your taste of music.
If you have special accommodation, please notify me as soon as possible, and I will be glad to accommodate you on your needs.
My prices depend on the length and location of the event and whether you need music and lights or just music. I always try to give each customer the most affordable price possible.
As a way of saying thank you to those who have served our country, I offer a 15% Military Discount to all Active Duty and Retired Service Members from all four branches. You have served us; it will be my honor to serve you.
